A meaningful
summer adventure!
Camp Turner is located within the 65,000 acre Allegany State Park, south of Buffalo, N.Y. Our Summer Camp program serves children ages 7-16... of all religious affiliations.
Activities include horseback riding, horse care, archery, hiking, orienteering, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, court hockey, nature study, low ropes course, arts and crafts, campfires, creek-walking, dodgeball, ping-pong, 9-Square-in-the-Air, GaGa ball, darts, disc golf, "human foosball," beach trips, dances and much more. Other special activities offered most sessions include fishing, drama, Zumba, table games, and digital photography.
Special programs for older campers include a high ropes course adventure, backpacking trips, outings, and leadership training workshops.
Our programming encourages the development of:

Interpersonal Skills: independence, responsibility and, most importantly, making friends.

Each “main area” includes many different options. For example: There are over 50 crafts in the Arts & Crafts lodge and some change every year. We offer more than a dozen different sporting options. The low ropes course has 9 elements and numerous ground level initiatives. The horse corral offers ring riding, trail riding, grooming and care along with the progressive horsemanship awards.

Awards programs are optional. Many campers return year after year and learn progressive skills in different awards programs. Those who achieve the highest level in an area are recognized with a substantial, custom-made wooden plaque, and their names are recorded on the large wall plaque in the Dining Hall for posterity.
Also offered each week
Beach trips, campfires, drama club, dances, water games, canteen (camp store), daily prayer times, weekly mass, horse grooming and care, creek walks, hikes, large and small group games, all camp games, out of camp trips to places like Sky High Adventure Park, Bear Caves, Quaker Beach, etc.
Other Activities
Every week also includes a wide variety of other activities not listed above. These are based on the interest and skills of each summer’s staff.
